Belletrix are a new Perth band playing an original blend of melodic grunge rock.

This four piece band bring together dynamic, intensely delivered catchy melodies and interesting, thoughtful lyrics of optimistic anxiety & melancholy.

Backed by bass heavy fuzz and intricate guitar with energetic ever-shifting drum beats, the result is a dynamic & accessable set of songs meant to be heard live.

Belletrix are a 4 piece, original melodic grunge-rock band from Perth, WA.

Forming in early 2005 as the combination of two separate groups with drummer Guy in common, Belletrix have, in just a few months, assembled a set of original songs from a back-catalogue contributed by all three original members.

Only a month after Belletrix began, they played their first gig together at the Rosemount Hotel. Just a few days later the journey was cruelly interrupted by Guy (drummer) mysteriously breaking his collarbone while attempting to stand up (?).

Belletrix wasted no time once the six weeks healing time was up and headed off to Groovehead studio to record a few tracks. In one six hour session they came away with ten roughly recorded but promising demos.

The sound is indie-rock grunge with a dash of punk. The songs are catchy, the lyrics are meaningful, guitars are heavy fuzz and the drums are energetic.

Lead singer (and part-time psychiatric nurse) Anton offers intensely delivered hook-laden melodies of angst & hopeful melancholy. But though the lyrics written by Anton may be a little dark sometimes the sound is far from depressing.

Recently joined by audio engineering student Felix (too late to save our demo) on bass and guitarist Brendan, Belletrix look forward to getting their sound heard around the venues of Perth.
